Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) has announced a reorganization plan that will see ADY Konteyner LLC merge into ADY Express LLC effective from November 1, 2024. This initiative aims to improve management in container and transit transportation, aligning with international practices observed in neighboring countries like Turkey, Russia, Georgia, and Kazakhstan.
The restructured "ADY Express" LLC will assume all functions, providing customers with more comprehensive services in both container and wagon transportation.
This move is part of ADY's ongoing efforts to develop international transport corridors passing through Azerbaijan, particularly the "Middle Corridor," a key East-West transit route. In recent years, ADY has coordinated activities with international partners within the framework of the "Trans-Caspian International Transport Route" International Association. This year, steps have been taken to establish the "Eurasian Transport Route" International Association to further expand coordination.
The reorganized ADY Express plans to optimize logistics processes using digital technologies, aiming to ensure transparency and safety in cargo transportation along the corridor. There are also plans to create a competitive digital platform in collaboration with international partners, utilizing new technologies.
ADY believes these reforms will contribute to the development of international transport corridors through Azerbaijan, increasing their competitiveness and attractiveness. The company also emphasizes its commitment to improving service quality and customer satisfaction in domestic cargo transportation.
In addition to expanding the country's transit opportunities, ADY claims to continue reforms to promote a healthier and more stable market environment in railway transportation. This includes ensuring transparent and fair market competition, creating equal conditions for all market participants, and supporting the activities of agent forwarders.
