A new TransFER (network connection with a fixed timetable) is now available to customers of the ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG): With the new TransFER Salzburg-Augsburg, RCG is linking Austria with the south of Germany and creating a central connection to the entire region of Central and South-Eastern Europe.
The new TransFER service will provide a non-stop connection between two major economic centers in Austria and Germany. There will be two round trips per week: Salzburg, which is a central hub in the Austrian rail network, and Augsburg, which is an important industrial and logistics center in the south of Germany. The result is a boost to the flow of goods between the two regions and a strengthening of the entire logistics chain in Central and South-Eastern Europe.
Customers from all industries benefit from conventional wagonload and container transport on sustainable rail - the TransFER is also suitable for transporting dangerous goods (RID). In addition, RCG offers comprehensive complete logistics solutions, such as the first and last mile, to ensure that goods reach their destination without a hitch, even for customers who do not have their own siding. RCG also offers a wide range of additional services in the freight forwarding sector.
