At TRAKO 2025 in Gdańsk, Siemens Mobility is showing its Vectrain platform publicly in Poland for the first time.
The version on display is configured for České dráhy, which introduced the first sets into service on the Prague–Berlin route in 2024. The consist includes a cab car and two passenger cars with 1st and 2nd class seating, a bar section, and areas adapted for bicycle transport. According to Siemens, the Vectrain platform includes seven available coach variants.
Vectrain cars are approved for cross-border operation in Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Denmark, Hungary and Poland. Further certifications are underway for Slovenia, Romania, and Bulgaria.
The trainset is based on standardised modular components. Siemens emphasises that vehicles can be delivered preconfigured and maintained under a unified servicing regime. The Vectron locomotive, already established across European fleets, remains the traction backbone of the concept.
The Vectrain presentation at TRAKO comes as Siemens Mobility continues to promote its rolling stock platforms for cross-border and high-speed use across Central and Eastern Europe.
