Co-funded by the EU, Pol-Miedź Trans has successfully applied for funds to acquire new rolling stock for intermodal transports. This included the purchase of a new PESA Gama locomotive as well as new intermodal wagons.
While the locomotive has been transporting intermodal trains in Poland for some time, the final delivery of 69 80’ Sggrss wagons on order happened at the end of November 2023. It still has 31 60' Sgnss wagons on order.
The carrier, belonging to the copper mining and processing KGHM Polska Miedź group, intends to grow its market share on railways in Poland with this purchase. It also planned to build a new intermodal terminal near Lubin, where the company is headquartered.
