Banedanmark will undertake extensive renewal work on the railway line between Fredericia and Padborg, starting 12 September 2024. This initiative will involve replacing tracks, sleepers, and switches, and cleaning the underlying foundation.
Work will be carried out in phases, impacting train schedules from September until mid-December. During this period, trains will operate on a single track while the other undergoes maintenance. Specific closures include one track being out of service between Fredericia and Lunderskov from 12 September to 31 October, and between Lunderskov and Tinglev from 5 October to 9 December. Additionally, there will be total track closures on some weekends, with replacements provided by train buses.
Key tasks include:
- Replacing rails and sleepers on 17.6 kilometers of track
- Clearing the foundation on 21.5 kilometers of track
- Lowering the track under three bridges
- Installing edge girder elevation and ballast protection on nine bridges
- Renewing drainage on 2.1 kilometers of track
