The Polish manufacturer will supply six train driver simulators and eight railway traffic control simulators by the end of 2026.

SIM Factor has signed two contracts with Hellenic Railways for the delivery of 14 railway simulators to Greece.

Under these contracts, Hellenic Railways will receive six train driver simulators and a dedicated instructor station for central management and supervision of all six simulators, as well as eight railway traffic control simulators, including an operator’s station. The systems will use more than 500 km of major Greek railway routes in the simulation environment.

The simulated routes and SIM Factor’s software will support training under normal, degraded and emergency operating scenarios. The systems are intended for driver training, certification, skills assessment and traffic control operator training.

The contracts cover the first delivery of railway simulators to Greece. Hellenic Railways is introducing the systems as part of its work on a new Railway Academy and changes to safety-critical training, including more practical and scenario-based instruction.

The procurement comes as Greece continues upgrades to its rail network, including signalling, telecommand and ETCS systems. Hellenic Railways is the national railway infrastructure manager of Greece, responsible for the management, operation, maintenance and development of the country’s railway infrastructure.

SIM Factor said Greece will become its 11th foreign market. The company provides simulation, virtualisation and holography systems, with railway simulation among its main sectors. In Poland, its simulators are used by vocational and technical schools, trainee drivers preparing for state examinations and licensed drivers undergoing further training.
