METRANS has taken delivery of three modernised Class 731 locomotives for shunting operations at its intermodal terminals, including Prague Terminal. The locomotives were acquired from ČD Cargo, purchased by Kladenská dopravní a strojní (KDS) and subsequently modernised before entering service with the operator.
The Class 731, made in 1991 by ČKD Praha, is designed for shunting duties and will be deployed for internal terminal movements, including positioning container wagons and supporting daily operational flows. The locomotives are intended to strengthen handling capacity within METRANS’ terminal network.
