The agreement includes full maintenance of the trains for two years.

CAF has signed a contract worth over EUR 300m to supply 30 electric multiple units to Srbijavoz for the BG Voz suburban network in Belgrade.

The three-car EMUs are based on CAF’s Civity commuter and regional platform and will each accommodate 546 passengers, including 204 seated. The units are designed for operation at speeds of up to 120 km/h.

Each train will feature six multi-purpose areas with space for up to 18 bicycles. The aluminium-bodied units are equipped with two bogies per carriage, a configuration intended to support acceleration and braking performance on routes with frequent station stops.

The fleet will operate across the BG Voz network, which comprises 35 stations on four main lines and three complementary lines linking central Belgrade with suburban termini including Ovča, Batajnica and Resnik, and extending to Mladenovac and Lazarevac. The new trains will replace ageing rolling stock currently in service.

This is CAF’s second rail contract in Serbia, following a 2009 order for 30 trams delivered for Belgrade’s urban transport network.
