Jupiter Wagons Limited (JWL) has received an order from GATX India for the supply of 583 freight wagons.
The wagons will be used for the transport of coal, iron ore, containerised cargo, and other bulk commodities across the Indian railway network. Part of the ordered fleet is intended for finished vehicle logistics, with a focus on passenger cars and SUVs.
According to JWL, the wagons are designed to provide faster turnaround times and higher load efficiency. Their deployment will be spread across multiple freight corridors to connect production sites, distribution hubs, and end markets.
