VINCI Construction, through its subsidiary ETF, has been awarded a major contract by SNCF Réseau, marking a key step in the transformation and modernization of the French rail network. The contract, worth around €700 million, involves the renewal of more than 800 km of track throughout France, to be completed by the end of 2030.
The project is expected to improve the regularity and frequency of train movements, thus contributing significantly to the overall improvement of the French railway system. The seven-year contract, with an option to extend the work by two years, underscores VINCI Construction's major commitment to renewing France's track and ballast.
VINCI Construction's approach to this major renewal project is to use mobile factory trains to carry out industrial track renewal using the fast-sequencing method. This method promises to speed up the renewal process while ensuring minimum disruption and maximum efficiency.
