China has ordered a new HSG-2 high-speed grinding train from Vossloh for preventive maintenance of its high-speed network.
High-speed grinding has become established across China’s network, with 12 of 18 regional railway administrations using the technology. Around 42,000 km of track were treated preventively last year, including heavily trafficked corridors such as Beijing–Shanghai.
China’s high-speed network currently spans about 50,000 km and is planned to expand to more than 70,000 km by 2035. The order adds maintenance capacity as the network continues to grow.
