The contract covers multi-year maintenance frameworks and extend the company’s long-term service activities in established rolling stock fleets.

CAF has signed a new service contract with Northern Trains and Eversholt Rail. The agreement covers a fleet of 101 multiple units manufactured by CAF between 2018 and 2020. This includes 12 four-car electric multiple units, 31 three-car electric units, 25 two-car diesel units, and 33 three-car diesel units.

The agreement is valid for a period of ten years and focuses on technical support, spare parts supply, and major overhaul activities. The operational model combines Northern’s direct workforce for routine servicing with CAF’s technical management and parts provisioning. Eversholt Rail continues to act as the asset owner, supporting both parties in maintenance delivery.

The contract comes at a point when the fleet is entering its next scheduled overhaul cycle. The renewal reflects a continuation of an existing cooperation framework that has been in place since the trains’ commissioning.

CAF currently operates in 14 depots across the UK and employs around 1,000 personnel, including at its manufacturing site in Newport.
