The new electric unit was presented in the Zemun depot.

Srbijavoz, Serbian only passenger rail operator, presented its latest fleet addition – the Soko high-speed train. The first out of five electric trains manufactured by CRRC in China, should complement Stadler’s FLIRT trains in endeavour to modernize Serbia's rail services. These trains promise to cut travel time between Belgrade and Subotica to just over an hour. Operations on this route are expected to commence by December.

The unveiling event was attended by President Aleksandar Vučić, who underscored the importance of importing high-quality trains and hinted at potential future local production. The train's ability to reach speeds of up to 200 km/h is seen as a step forward in the nation's transportation capabilities.

Ivan Bulajić, Acting Director of Srbijavoz, highlighted the train's capacity to maintain high speeds on Serbian tracks and its role in facilitating faster travel times. The new Soko train is expected to significantly reduce the travel duration between Belgrade and Budapest, bringing it down to three hours. According to Bulajić, the initial feedback suggests that this addition will stand out as a notable improvement to the current fleet.
