RITES Limited, an engineering consultancy firm, has signed a contract to supply 200 broad-gauge passenger wagons to Bangladesh Railway. The EUR 102.5 million contract, funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB), was awarded through a global bidding process.
The agreement stipulates a 36-month period for supply and commissioning, followed by a 24-month warranty period.
RITES has a longstanding relationship with Bangladesh Railway, having previously supplied 120 passenger coaches, 36 locomotives, and 10 meter-gauge locomotives. This contract continues their collaboration on infrastructure projects.
