Stadler has opened a new train maintenance facility in Obersiebenbrunn near Vienna on 10 April 2026, expanding its service capacity in Austria. The site is dedicated to commissioning, approval, and maintenance of Stadler rolling stock, including the WESTbahn high-speed fleet, which has been serviced there since March 2026.
Stadler confirmed that the workshop will be available to all operators running Stadler trains, standardising maintenance processes and reducing lead times for vehicle deployment.
Constructed in cooperation with STRABAG, the project was completed within seven months. The development strengthens Stadler’s operational footprint in Austria and supports the growing demand for maintenance capacity linked to expanding rail fleets.
The Obersiebenbrunn site includes a 225-metre-long hall covering approximately 4,600 m², office space, and an additional tent structure for storage. It is located on the AGRANA industrial premises in Obersiebenbrunn/Leopoldsdorf and is connected to a corridor equipped with ETCS and designed for speeds of up to 200 km/h.
