The wagons were purchased by its subsidiary LTG Cargo Polska and will operate on the 1,435 mm European-gauge corridor via Łódź.

LTG Cargo has introduced 72 pocket wagons for intermodal transport between Kaunas and Duisburg.

The wagons were manufactured in 2025 by Bulgarian supplier Kolowag for LTG Cargo Polska. Funded with support from the Polish National Intermodal Transport Recovery Plan Fund, the fleet will replace leased rolling stock and expand the operator’s capacity on the westbound route.

The pocket wagons are designed for the transport of conventional semi-trailers without the need for additional securing equipment. A full trainset carries 36 semi-trailers, enabling rapid loading and preparation for departure.

LTG Cargo has operated intermodal services on the Kaunas–Duisburg corridor since 2022, following the connection of the European-gauge line to the Kaunas Intermodal Terminal in 2016. Trains run three times per week over a 1,520 km route, with LTG Cargo Polska providing traction for most of the section across Poland.

LTG Cargo Polska employs 130 staff and manages more than 350 European-gauge wagons and 28 locomotives, including Siemens locomotives deployed on international services. LTG Cargo is part of the LTG Group and operates subsidiaries in Poland and Ukraine, providing freight transport, logistics, forwarding, wagon repair and leasing services.
