The fleet, equipped with Innofreight “RockTainer ORE” containers, will handle around 1.8 million tonnes of iron ore annually from the Erzberg site in Styria.

Logistik Service GmbH (LogServ) and its rail subsidiary CargoServ have introduced 30 new ore wagons for iron ore transport between Eisenerz and Linz.

The wagons operate in three to four round trips per day on the corridor linking Erzberg and the steel production site in Linz. Each wagon carries two Innofreight RockTainer ORE containers, forming dedicated block trains for bulk transport.

The first set of 15 wagons entered service at the end of January, with the remaining 15 following at the end of February. Most of the fleet is finished in a green livery referencing Styria, while four wagons carry a red or blue anniversary design.

The special liveries precede the 25th anniversary of LogServ and CargoServ in 2026. CargoServ provides rail logistics services for voestalpine’s steel production flows, including raw material transport from the Erzberg mine to Linz.
