Under the agreement, fenaco GOF, the group’s logistics specialist for agricultural raw materials, will continue to move grain, oilseeds and feed raw materials by rail across the Swiss network. ChemOil Logistics, a subsidiary of SBB Cargo, will provide 145 leased freight wagons dedicated to these operations.
The partners expect annual transport volumes of around 300,000 tonnes. The wagons will be used for inland flows supporting fenaco’s supply chains for agricultural production, storage and processing.
The contract extends an existing cooperation between fenaco and ChemOil Logistics and maintains rail as the main transport mode for these commodities. The arrangement focuses on regular, domestic rail services using dedicated rolling stock over the agreed period.
