Ukrzaliznytsia has reactivated the container transit corridor connecting Turkey, Ukraine, and Poland, aiming to strengthen its position in international freight flows amid declining cargo volumes. The first container train in this direction completed its journey through Ukrainian territory and was handed over to the Polish broad-gauge LHS line.
The operation involved coordination between UZ Cargo Poland and CTS "Lisky", handling the formation and transit logistics of the container train. The teams coordinated procedures with Polish rail partners to ensure the scheduled transit.
The next container movement along this corridor is planned for the second half of November 2025. UZ Cargo Poland is also considering expanding the service to include semi-trailer transport on rail platforms as part of intermodal trains. This would add a new segment for road operators seeking alternative routes into the EU via Ukraine and Turkey.
