According to the companies involved, each unloading replaces 28 truck journeys. Starting in the autumn, three unloading operations per week are expected at the Malmö terminal.

The first unloading of fuel from a Green Cargo train has taken place at Copenhagen Malmö Port’s (CMP) newly built railway terminal in Malmö. The operation was carried out by Scandinavian Tank Storage (STS) and St1 Sverige.

The transported load, originating from St1’s refinery in Gothenburg, included petrol and diesel products. Previously, deliveries to St1’s fuel depot in Malmö had been carried out by sea. The switch to rail follows earlier use of the Gothenburg refinery’s output for rail transport to depots in Jönköping and Karlstad.
