The first train is scheduled to depart from the Lisky railway station terminal to the port of Duisburg this summer.

Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ), in collaboration with Duisburger Hafen Aktiengesellschaft, is set to launch regular container and trailer train services between Ukraine and the port of Duisburg this summer. This initiative follows the signing of a memorandum between the two parties.

The new service aims for a better transportation of goods by rail from Ukraine to European Union countries. By partnering with the world's largest inland river port, Ukrzaliznytsia will offer a door-to-door service for customers in both Ukraine and Europe.

This service plans to accomodate cargo transported by container as well as semitrailers. Clients will benefit from predictable transportation costs and delivery times, as the trains will bypass border queues.

The port of Duisburg, despite its inland location, serves as a significant logistics hub. Cargo from the port reaches various destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Situated near the confluence of the Ruhr and Rhine rivers, approximately 190 kilometers from the North Sea, Duisburg port features eight container terminals and is recognized as the largest inland river port globally.
