An expansion of TXL on the Swedish network.

TX Logistik has initiated a new intermodal service connecting Gothenburg, Eskilstuna, and Umeå. This route, operated by the subsidiary of German TX Logistik AG under the Mercitalia Logistics umbrella, will feature two weekly round trips, accommodating 32 loading units per train.

The service includes the use of cranable and non-cranable semi-trailers, thanks to the Nikrasa TX handling system. This system allows for the quick and seamless loading of trailers without requiring changes to terminal standards, wagons, or rail infrastructure. TX Logistik has ensured the availability of necessary Nikrasa plates for this purpose.

The new intermodal train will take approximately six hours to travel from Gothenburg’s Arken intermodal terminal to Eskilstuna, located west of Stockholm. Following the handling of necessary trailers and loading of new units, the train will proceed to Umeå, completing the journey in around 14 hours. TX Logistik is the sole freight operator utilizing the Botnia Railway along Sweden’s east coast, permitting speeds up to 120 kilometers per hour due to modern ETCS-equipped locomotives.

This addition reinforces TX Logistik's presence in Sweden, where it already operates several key routes. The company runs an open train system with seven weekly round trips between Trelleborg, Malmö, and Eskilstuna. Additionally, it manages ten weekly round trips for Coop between Kjula and Malmö, and three weekly round trips for LKW Walter between Trelleborg and Eskilstuna. These services are complemented by traction services for the Scandinavian segment of TX Logistik's European routes.
