Tradelog has teamed up with Metrocargo Italia to facilitate intermodal transport between the south of France and the north of Italy. This partnership aims to offer efficient and sustainable solutions for the transportation of goods, with a particular focus on reducing CO2 emissions and alleviating road congestion.
The collaboration between Tradelog and Metrocargo Italia commenced on June 8th and involves the transportation of silo containers filled with anhydride powder. This intermodal service utilizes the rail connection operated by FuoriMuro Impresa Ferroviaria, in which Metrocargo Italia holds a 28.6% ownership stake.
Mauro De Caria, Tradelog's Sales Manager, emphasized the company's long-standing commitment to developing value-added sustainable transport solutions: “For the past 15 years, Tradelog has been dedicated to offering intermodal services that reduce carbon emissions and alleviate road congestion. The partnership with Metrocargo Italia for the Miramas-to-Castelguelfo route aligns with Tradelog's vision outlined in its 2018 Charter of Values, which aims to move 1,270,000 tonnes of goods in an eco-friendly manner by 2030.”
The French axis is one of Tradelog's key markets and the company already uses intermodal services between northern France and Italy. Tradelog is also exploring the possibility of creating a dedicated door-to-door service for one of its largest customers, further demonstrating its commitment to providing efficient and tailored logistics solutions.
Melania Molini, General Manager of Metrocargo Italia, highlighted the focus on environmental sustainability. By joining forces with Tradelog, Metrocargo is contributing to the realization of sustainable transport goals while meeting the evolving needs of its customers.
