Inlandståg, a subsidiary of Inlandsbanan, and Tågåkeriet i Bergslagen (Tågab) have redefined their partnership. Initially, Tågab intended to acquire Inlandståg, but this plan has now evolved into a different form of collaboration. Both companies will continue to operate independently while enhancing their cooperative efforts in rail traffic and maintenance.
This change comes amid a period of positive financial performance for Inlandståg, driven by increased transportation demand and improved operational efficiency. The strengthened partnership aims to leverage synergies between the two companies, which share similar business activities.
Inlandsbanan, the parent company, manages the railway infrastructure between Gällivare and Mora on behalf of the Swedish government. Owned by 19 municipalities along the railway, Inlandsbanan oversees two wholly owned subsidiaries: Destination Inlandsbanan and Inlandståg.
Inlandsbanan’s mandate includes supporting regional growth by increasing both freight and passenger traffic along the Inlandsbanan railway and its connecting lines. The organization is also committed to minimizing the environmental impact of its activities, contributing positively to sustainability efforts.
