The units have replaced Class 854 DMUs, some of which were up to 50 years old. České dráhy (ČD) began trial operation of the first RegioFox units in the region in summer 2024, with deliveries continuing in 2025 and 2026.
The RegioFox units operate mainly on services from Prague to Mělník and Beroun via Rudná u Prahy, on the Posázavský pacifik route, and between Beroun and Rakovník. In Prague, they also run on PID lines S3, S8 and S88, including services from Praha hlavní nádraží to Satalice, Kbely, Čakovice, Krč, Braník, Modřany, Komořany and Zbraslav.
The two-car, low-floor DMUs provide barrier-free access, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, power sockets and tables. The 38 units add more than 4,000 seats to non-electrified routes in Prague and the Central Bohemian Region.
Pesa is delivering 106 Class 847 RegioFox units to ČD under the wider framework. The fleet totals 212 cars and 12,190 seats, with units also operating in the South Bohemian, Karlovy Vary, Pardubice, Hradec Králové and Vysočina regions.
Each RegioFox unit is fitted with two Rolls-Royce engines with a combined output of 750 kW and can use HVO fuel. The units have a maximum speed of 120 km/h and are equipped with GSM-R and ETCS.
