The first multi-system locomotive has been already handed over for freight operations across Central and Western Europe.

CityRail has taken delivery of its first Siemens Mobility Vectron A54 locomotive from Alpha Trains in the Czech Republic, which will soon be followed by a second locomotive.

The Vectron A54 is approved for operation in the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Belgium and Serbia. CityRail plans to deploy the locomotive primarily on timber and wood chip flows.

Initial services include freight movements to Hněvice for Mondi Štětí, with additional cross-border operations to Austria planned for other customers. A second Vectron locomotive from Alpha Trains is scheduled to be delivered to CityRail at the end of January.

Since mid-2025, CityRail has a new 50% shareholder, which is the Austrian full-service rail logistics provider, Innofreight.
