SIM Factor has delivered and commissioned two locomotive simulators for Romanian state operator CFR Călători.
The delivery comprises two multifunctional full-cab simulators mounted on six-degree-of-freedom motion platforms, each equipped with an instructor station. Both simulators integrate the European Train Control System (ETCS).
The systems reproduce 170 km of Romanian routes and support training in shunting operations and emergency scenarios.
They are intended for driver certification, periodic training and competency assessment, with the ability to simulate system failures and operational disruptions.
Modular driver desks enable replication of four vehicle types, including Pesa electric multiple units. Pesa is currently delivering 655-5 EMUs to Romania under a separate contract.
