These locomotives remain in service on non-electrified lines and are used during infrastructure disruptions, detours, and engineering works.

METRANS has completed a general overhaul of the first Siemens Eurorunner delivered to the operator in 2011. The locomotive has returned to service following workshop work and now features a retro-style “Since 1991 – Traditional Edition” livery, reflecting the company’s original design used in the early 1990s.

Eurorunners have previously operated on routes linking Dunajská Streda, Bratislava, Budapest, Hodoš, and later Košice. As the electrification of METRANS’ network has expanded, its use has shifted primarily to areas around Dunajská Streda, Bratislava, and Komárno. The company has eight locomotives in the fleet.
