The project focuses on increasing rail-based vehicle transport capacity along the Mediterranean Corridor.

Transfesa has introduced a fleet of 100 auto transport wagons designed for international (UIC) gauge operations. The company expects to receive an additional 100 wagons in the coming months as part of an initiative supported by EU funding through the Next Generation EU Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan.

By deploying these wagons, Transfesa aims to shift part of the automotive logistics chain from road to rail, aligning with efforts to reduce CO₂ emissions in freight transport.

The newly delivered wagons are configured for operations on UIC gauge infrastructure, allowing for expanded cross-border logistics. Their integration into Transfesa’s fleet is expected to support adjustments in vehicle transport flows across the corridor.
