RDC Germany will take over the Berlin–Hamburg–Stockholm EuroNight service from 1 September 2026.

The private railway company will run the night train commercially after SJ decided to end its EuroNight operation when Swedish Transport Administration subsidies expire in summer 2026.

The service will continue three times per week in each direction under the RDC EuroNight brand. Ticket sales are due to open on 1 June 2026 through RDC Germany’s booking platforms.

RDC Germany has been involved in the train since 2022 as SJ’s partner railway undertaking on the German section. Under the new arrangement, RDC becomes the responsible operator, while SJ will continue to support operations on the Scandinavian section.

EuroNight 344/345 will continue to cover the 1,500 km route between Germany and Sweden. Northbound departures are scheduled from Berlin at 18:39 on Mondays and Fridays. The Wednesday northbound service will start from Hamburg at 21:53. Arrival in Stockholm is scheduled for 09:45 the following day.

Southbound trains will depart Stockholm at 17:29 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Arrival in Hamburg is scheduled for 05:53 on Wednesdays, while Berlin arrivals are planned shortly before 09:00 on Fridays and Sundays.

The train will operate with up to five sleeping cars, along with couchette and seating cars. RDC Germany owns the rolling stock and maintains it at its workshops in Lengerich and Niebüll, as well as at partner workshops.

The continuation keeps a direct night train between Germany and Sweden on the market after the end of Swedish public support for the SJ-operated service.
