Forwardis is strengthening its fleet management services across Europe, focusing on flexibility, coordination and efficient wagon operations.

Forwardis is further developing its fleet management services, as demand grows for more flexible and coordinated wagon operations across the European rail freight market.

The company manages a fleet of more than 2,500 wagons and increasingly supports not only its own assets, but also customer-owned fleets, positioning itself as a central coordinator between wagon owners, operators and maintenance providers.

From a market perspective, the move reflects a broader trend in rail freight: operators are looking for integrated services that go beyond simple wagon leasing, combining maintenance, logistics and operational planning.

A key part of Forwardis’ approach is the coordination of repairs, inspections and cleaning, all of which are essential to keeping wagons in service and minimising downtime. This includes managing periodic inspections, organising transport to workshops and ensuring fast response in case of damage.

The company also focuses on the efficient movement of empty wagons, integrating them into existing train flows where possible or using single wagon networks to optimise costs and transit times.

With increasing pressure on reliability and efficiency in European rail freight, such services are becoming a critical part of day-to-day operations, particularly for customers managing complex or international flows.

Forwardis is thus strengthening its role not only as a logistics provider, but also as a coordinator of rolling stock operations, supporting more efficient and resilient rail freight across Europe.
