Podravka has resumed receiving wheat deliveries by rail to its Flour and Semolina Mill in Koprivnica, ending a break of over 15 years.
The track, which had been unused for more than a decade, underwent a series of repairs to return it to operational status. Works included sleeper and switch replacements, gravel filling, and clearing of buried sections. The repairs enable the site to again accept rail-delivered raw materials.
The first trainload of wheat was transported from Vukovar, under an arrangement with Podravka Agri, which is responsible for supplying wheat of standardised quality to the food company.
The project forms part of Podravka’s shift toward securing agricultural supply chains and modifying logistics flows. Rail deliveries are being positioned as part of a broader operational adjustment, focusing on domestic sourcing and changing transport modes.
