Polish regional operator Koleje Mazowieckie (Masovian Railways) has signed a contract with Stadler Polska for the delivery of 11 additional FLIRT electric multiple units, bringing the total number of trains under the framework agreement to 75. With 64 units already contracted, the new order completes the operator’s largest rolling-stock investment to date.
The first trains from the programme are scheduled to enter service in April 2026. Beyond vehicle delivery, the contract also includes maintenance services, technical training and repair packages, supporting long-term fleet operation.
According to the operator, the investment aims to improve passenger comfort and capacity across the Masovian region, particularly on routes linking Warsaw with surrounding cities and towns. The FLIRT units are designed for regional services at speeds of up to 160 km/h, supporting faster and more reliable connections on key corridors.
All trains will be manufactured at Stadler’s Siedlce plant, reinforcing the site’s role as a key rail manufacturing hub in Poland. Stadler reports that the project has led to the creation of around 400 new jobs this year, with continued expansion of its local engineering and production teams.
Production of the previously ordered units is progressing, with 25 trains currently in manufacturing, commissioning or type testing. Once deliveries are completed, Koleje Mazowieckie will operate 146 FLIRT units, making it the largest FLIRT fleet in Poland.
The latest contract builds on a nearly 20-year partnership between Stadler and Koleje Mazowieckie. The first FLIRT trains entered service in 2006, with further deliveries between 2020 and 2023, followed by the current large-scale procurement programme signed in 2024–2025.
