Josef Köcher joins the rail vehicle manufacturer with more than 20 years of leadership experience in international aerospace and industrial production. His previous roles include senior positions at Airbus and ArianeGroup, including Head of Production Aircraft & MRO Germany and site manager of Airbus Defence and Space in Manching.
In 2020, he moved to Diehl Aviation, where he first served as Chief Operating Officer and later also as CEO and member of the Diehl Group Executive Board. Most recently, he worked at Siemens Gamesa as Head of Global Operations Rotor Blade.
At Stadler, Köcher will lead operations at the Berlin site with a focus on industrial efficiency and production processes.
“With Josef Köcher, we are gaining an experienced leader with a deep understanding of industrial excellence and complex manufacturing,” said Philipp Brunner, Division Head and Executive Vice President of Stadler Group.
Köcher said Stadler Germany combines innovative products with a strong rail vehicle tradition.
“With the ongoing efficiency improvement programme, we have a strong lever to further improve processes and use our strengths even more efficiently. We will follow this path together with speed and full energy,” said Josef Köcher.
The change follows the departure of Jure Mikolčić, who will become President and Chief Executive Officer of Fortaco, the Finnish listed industrial company, from 1 August 2026.
